Description:
Chinese Calligraphy has evolved throughout Chinese history, now a symbol for the oriental world. Through calligraphy, one can better understand the Chinese way of thinking as well as the importance of balance and harmony in the Chinese way of life. When rendering strokes with one's brush, one will experience the basic movements of Taichi and the delicate balance of Yin and Yang. The study of Calligraphy will help you improve your understanding of Chinese people and their culture, as it incorporates some of the core philosphies and inspirations of Chinese people.
About our teacher:
Fiona SHENG(盛情) started practicing calligraphy at the age of 5. She has won over 100 prizes throughout her life and multiple TV programs have been dedicated to her over the years. Her artwork has been displayed in 4 continents across the world, and as she jokingly puts it, she needs to catch up to her art work's travels and start traveling the world herself.
Her classes are always exciting and lively. Taking her courses will provide you with a taste of the Chinese people's methodology of strict discipline, but with fun and laughter on the side. Additionally, Sheng laoshi speaks fluent English, so there is no need to worry about not being able to follow her class.
Join us now, and you too will have the opportunity to write a beautifully written Spring Festival Scroll one day soon!
