Spending Christmas abroad?
Having a hard time getting into the holiday spirit among loose canons on scooters, spicy noodles, and the lack of Wham! in the radio? Why not join us for a fun Christmas countdown to get the Christmas started, while supporting a great cause. Is that not what Christmas is all about?
To give back to the community which has helped us throughout our time. We at Hutong School have teamed up with Shanghai-based charity Giving Tree to host a joyful Christmas Potluck with delicious food, drinks, raffle prizes, and great company.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the charity Giving Tree, which has been helping migrant children in Shanghai and surrounding areas since 2003.

Are you a notoriously terrible cook, or just too busy to sweat and bleed in the kitchen? But still want to join and support this great event (Please, think of the children guys)
We have a couple of solutions that could help you out.
- Register early and you’ll only pay 50 RMB for entrance, and food!
- Not sure if you’ll be able to come (Again, think of the children!) Pay 80 RMB at the door.
Already dressed up, and ready to join? Bring a dish and you’ll get in for FREE. That’s right, for free! Just please don’t show up with your old cans of tomato soup or stale bread from yesterdays lunch.
Open bar all night
The bar will be open all night for those interested in celebrating Christmas with a buzz.
- For 120 RMB you can get free flow beer and soda all night!
- Other beverages will served for reasonable prices
Not a fan beer? Don't worry, there will be other alcoholic beverages for those not interested.
Already dressed up and started cooking?
Time:
Doors open at 6 PM and close at 10 PM.
- 6 PM is happy hour with drinks, and plenty of time to get to know each other.
- Food starts at around 7 PM.
- 8 PM. The big Christmas raffle begins, where you can win some pretty cool prizes. Remember all proceeds benefit charity!
The rest of the night you can spend talking about how great movies Home Alone 1-2 still are, or about that time your uncle got too drunk at dinner. There is no better way to get the Christmas feeling then reminiscing about moms cooking, that time it actually snowed on Christmas eve, and seeing your relatives getting more and more caring, while sipping on Uncle Jim's extra strong Eggnog.
So why not spend a cozy night celebrating Christmas, while supporting a great cause? Join us in our Shanghai department, for a night of great food, drinks, and good company. Wear your ugliest Christmas sweater, your fanciest dress, or just come as you are!
