Laoshe Teahouse is located in the busy shopping area to the west of the Qianmen Gate Arrow Tower on the southern edge of Tian'anmen Square. The teahouse is named after famous Chinese novelist and playwright, Lao She, and his masterpiece drama "Teahouse".
Although an attempt to give a taste of a Beijing tea-house during Lao She’s time, it has transformed into an entertainment house with short shows by comedians, singers, musicians, acrobats and opera performers. An adjacent room displays paintings, art objects like paper cuttings, figurines, antiques, kites and jade carvings.
In short, one can have a kaleidoscopic view of Beijing culture while sipping tea.
