Meet the Hutong Team, week 2! Meet Guo Dou (we call him Guo Lao), our Office Manager in Beijing!

Guo Lao, you have been working here at Hutong School from the very first beginning. What keeps you here?
I like Hutong School’s culture! Hutong School already changed a lot of the person’s culture and life. It’s amazing to see that kind of experience. I think I will spend my whole life working for Hutong School. It’s a chance for me to meet new people, gain experience and adapt to new challenges.
What was the first impression you had from our school?
My first impression? It was quite interesting to see how everyone felt like we were one big and happy family.
What about the working atmosphere?
Everyone is very young, very lively, and very polite!
What motivates you to work at Hutong School?
Every day I get a new challenge.
Why do you think students abroad should choose Hutong School?
I can only say that many students I met from abroad get a new life here and their experiences have changed their life forever. I can give you so many examples!
Any tips for interns from Hutong School?
1. Work out every day, and keep a good mood
2. Keep regular hours
3. Don’t work more than 8 hours
4. Don’t work in weekends
5. Be positive to contemporary problems or difficulties
You must have experienced so much here in China. Do you want to share something with us or give some tips to newcomers?
So many stories, but unfortunately not enough time! Come by my office during lunch time, I can tell you many experiences.
My advice to newcomers in China: Be open to a new culture. It will change your life!
