The furniture sector, which increased its exports to 963 million in the first quarter of the year, increased its year-end export target by 500 million dollars and reached 5 billion dollars.
Istanbul Furniture Paper and Forest Products Exporters Association and Furniture Associations Federation Chairman Ahmet Güleç said that furniture exports increased by 40 percent in March and the 3-month average increased by 15 percent.
Noting that the increase in exports will continue especially in April and May, Güleç stated that the sector has increased its year-end export target and said: “Our year-end goal was 1 billion dollars more exports. In other words, it was to increase furniture exports from 3.5 billion dollars to 4.5 billion dollars. A little more added. We will hopefully reach 5 billion dollars only in furniture exports by focusing on valuable products and revising our target upwards. Exports of furniture, paper and forestry products were over 5.5 billion dollars last year. We aim to realize in billion dollars. “
