Turkish furniture manufacturers continue their preparations for the CIFF International Furniture Fair, which was postponed due to COVID-19, and will take part in the fair to be held in Guangzhou, China between July 27-30, with Turkish furniture consisting of 48 containers.
Being the 13th largest furniture manufacturer in the world, Turkey continues its preparations for the CIFF International Furniture Fair, which was postponed to July due to COVID-19. Turkish furniture will take place at the fair to be held in Guangzhou, China between July 27-30, with 48 containers on an area of 4 thousand square meters.
Making a statement on the subject, Ahmet Güleç, President of the Istanbul Furniture Paper and Forest Products Exporters Association, stated that China is an important market for the Turkish furniture industry and its exports to this country increased threefold in June. Güleç also gave information about the CIFF Fair, where all the important buyers of the global market were present, and said that Turkey will take part in the fair, which was postponed to July 27-30 due to COVID-19, with 48 containers of products and 45 brands on an area of 4 thousand square meters.
Explaining that products belonging to Turkish brands will be exhibited at the fair, but they will not be physically ready there, Güleç said:
“The installation of the stands and the stand staff were supplied from China with the support of the Ministry of Commerce and our Commercial Counselor. However, with the digital infrastructure we have created, all buyers will be able to talk to the representatives of Turkish brands in a very comfortable way. Why are we developing all these solutions despite the travel restrictions brought by the pandemic. Because China is a very important market for us. We meet not only China but all important furniture buyers of the world at this fair. In addition, our exports to China tripled this year compared to June last year. Our relationship with China is not only limited to selling furniture, but also to cooperate strategically. As the association, we have designed, planned, implemented the plan and supported all our companies in this fair from the very beginning. “
The first international virtual fair is on July 27-30
Indicating that the importance of digitalization and e-commerce has increased, especially with the “new normal” in addition to quality, design and price in exports, Ahmet Güleç said that they will hold the first international virtual fair in furniture again in July. Explaining that they will organize Turkey’s first international virtual furniture fair under the name of ‘Furnistry2020 Virtual Fair’ between July 27-30, Güleç stated that they invited all important buyers of the world to the fair and that they will hold business meetings in e-B2B areas at the fair where products of Turkish brands will be promoted.
Noting that they aim to be among the top five countries in the world in furniture exports in 2023, Güleç said, “After the pandemic, the importance of digitalization and e-commerce has increased in the ‘New Normal’. Turkish furniture industry has taken great steps in this regard with the support of our Ministry. I claim that the technology of the Turkish furniture industry is not in the furniture industry of any other country in the world. In the near future, our industry will take its place among the leading countries of the world in digitalization and e-commerce. ” said.
